I worked with Modment to design a book cover and a map for a historic fiction novel. Since I'm not a terribly visual person, I had only the vaguest notions of what I wanted. Something that maybe incorporated some old sepia photos of where the story took place, but also incorporating some pops of color, so the cover would stand out on a shelf. How's that for imprecise? Modment came up with something that far exceeded my expectations. Stylish and bright, while still conveying a bit of a nostalgic mood. I couldn't be more pleased with their work! And when I decided to add a map to the beginning of the novel, and sent a bunch of scribbled up photocopies of old tax maps, they worked up something lovely and elegant virtually overnight! They just have a knack for taking incoherent ideas from clueless clients like myself and whipping up magic!
